New Heathrow ultra-rapid charging hub puts taxi and private-hire drivers first

London, UK — 18 August 2026 — LEAP24 has opened a new 4-bay ultra-rapid charging station minutes from Heathrow Terminals 2 and 3, making it the only charging network with ultra-rapid locations within 7 minutes from both Heathrow and London City Airport.

For taxi and private-hire drivers, time spent charging is time off the road. LEAP24’s new Heathrow station has been opened with this in mind, offering four 200kW charging bays close to one of London’s busiest areas for professional drivers.

The opening builds on LEAP24’s focus on supporting London’s taxi and private-hire industry, with a growing network across the capital designed to put fast, competitively priced charging closer to the journeys these drivers make every day.

LEAP24 has also worked directly with Uber to have the site added to its Heathrow waiting area, helping drivers using the platform fit charging more naturally into their working day.

Keeping charging costs down

Through the LEAP24 Partner Card, drivers can charge for 54p/kWh during the day and 45p/kWh between 10pm and 7am, compared with the standard tariff of 69p/kWh.

There is also no additional site access or parking fee. Drivers using some nearby charging locations, including the Tesla Supercharger at the Renaissance London Heathrow Hotel, can face an additional parking charge on top of their charging session.

The new station is located at 60 New Road, Harlington, UB3 5BQ. Drivers can pay by contactless bank card, through the LEAP24 app or using all major charge cards, with discounted tariffs available through the LEAP24 Partner Card.

All electricity supplied through LEAP24’s charging network comes from wind and solar energy.
