Overstay Fees

Keeping our chargers accessible for everyone

At LEAP24, we want our ultra-rapid charging stations to be reliable, efficient, and available when you need them. To help make that happen, we’ve introduced an overstay fees.

Why this fee exists

Our ultra-rapid network is designed for charging and then onward driving. But in real use, we’ve seen vehicles remain connected long after charging is complete. This, unfortunately blocks the space, meaning other drivers can’t charge when they need to.

To improve availability and reduce unnecessary wait times, we apply this fee fairly once a session is finished and the vehicle stays plugged in too long — helping keep prices lower for everyone and encouraging thoughtful use of the station

How it works

  • After your vehicle finishes charging, you get a 45-minute grace period to move your vehicle.

  • If you remain plugged in after those 45 minutes, the overstay fee kicks in.

  • The fee is: £0.20 per minute (including VAT).

This approach helps make sure chargers are used as intended — for charging, not long-term parking.

Who pays the fee

The overstay charge applies automatically to all users of LEAP24’s charging stations once the session has ended and the grace period has ended.
