1. Personal data we process

This Privacy Statement provides information about the processing of personal data by LEAP 24 B.V., LEAP 24 Nederland B.V., and LEAP 24 UK Ltd. (hereinafter: “LEAP24” or “we”). This Privacy Statement applies to all personal data processed by or on behalf of us when you are our customer, supplier, or business partner, visit our website, apply for a job at LEAP24, subscribe to our newsletter, or otherwise directly provide personal data to LEAP24, for example, by contacting us directly.

We highly value the protection of your privacy when processing personal data. The personal data is processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (hereinafter: “GDPR”) and other applicable privacy legislation.

When you visit our website (www.leap24.eu, www.leap24.co.uk, or www.leap24.de), our web servers (via Google Analytics) automatically store the IP address of your internet service provider, as well as the website from which you visit us, the pages you access on our website, and the date and duration of your visit. This information is absolutely necessary for the technical transmission of web pages and for the secure and correct operation of the server. No personalized evaluation takes place. Later in this Privacy Statement, we explain more about the use of cookies on our website.

If you contact LEAP24 yourself, for example, by phone, mail, email, or via the web form, or if you subscribe to our newsletter, we may process the following data from you: your first and last name, email address, and phone number.

If you apply for a job at LEAP24, we only process the data necessary to complete the application process. Of course, we handle this data strictly confidentially. We process, among others, the following personal data from applicants:

  • First name
  • Last name
  • Phone number
  • Email address and email communication
  • Address details
  • Gender
  • Date of birth/birth details
  • Curriculum vitae (CV)/motivation letter
  • Educational and work experience level
  • Years of experience

If you are our supplier or business partner, we may process the following data: first name, last name, phone number, bank account number, email address, and job title.

If you are our customer and use/have used our services (charging an electric vehicle at our fast-charging stations) or sign up for a charging card subscription with us, we may process the following data: your geo-location data from a charging session, first name, last name, phone number, bank account number, address, and camera footage from the charging location.

We provide our services in collaboration with Road B.V. (hereinafter: Road). Road collects the personal data of our customers and business partners to execute our charging card subscriptions and manage the billing of our fast-charging stations. Most of this personal data is therefore stored on Road’s servers. LEAP24 can access and process this personal data via Road.

2. Role of LEAP24

We are the data controller in the sense of the GDPR regarding the personal data that LEAP24 processes online. This means that we have certain legal responsibilities and obligations for our processing activities. This Privacy Statement serves to inform you about which data we process and how we fulfill our responsibilities.

3. Purpose and legal basis for processing personal data

  • To secure our charging locations

If you use our services, are our supplier, or collaborate with us in another way, we process your personal data for the execution of the agreement we have made.

LEAP24 has a legitimate interest in processing camera footage at its charging locations. The cameras help prevent, detect, and prosecute criminal offenses such as theft and vandalism. Our charging locations clearly indicate if camera surveillance is in place. LEAP24 only reviews the footage if there is a direct reason to do so, such as (suspected) criminal activity.

Additionally, we may have a legitimate interest in processing your personal data, for example, for direct marketing purposes related to the sale of new or other products. However, we will always perform a thorough assessment to balance your privacy with our legitimate interest. Your personal data will only be processed on this basis if our legitimate interest outweighs your rights.

LEAP24 also has a legitimate interest in processing the personal data of job applicants. This is necessary to assess whether an applicant is suitable for the position they have applied for. If an applicant voluntarily shares more personal data than required for the application process, this data will generally not be taken into account when evaluating the application.

Furthermore, we process personal data based on legal obligations, such as our administrative obligations, and we comply with legal retention periods.

In all other cases, we explicitly request your consent to process personal data. If you have given consent, you are always free to withdraw it at any time.

This ensures that the use of Google Analytics complies with privacy-friendly standards. LEAP24 has not given Google permission to use the obtained data for other Google services. Additionally, LEAP24 has blocked the transfer of your full IP address.

Google Analytics uses cookies to help analyze how users interact with the website. The information generated by these cookies about your website usage is transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. This includes the partial transmission of your IP address. Google uses this information to track how you use the website, compile reports on website activity for website operators, and provide other services related to website activity and internet usage.

Google may provide this information to third parties if Google is legally required to do so or if these third parties process the information on behalf of Google. Google will not combine your partial IP address with other data held by Google. You can refuse the use of cookies, as explained below. 5. Security and recipients of your data

Security of your data
We have implemented technical and administrative security measures to protect your personal data against loss, destruction, manipulation, and unauthorized access. All our employees, as well as the service providers working for us, are bound by applicable data protection laws. Our employees only have access to personal data processed via Road using two-factor authentication. This two-factor authentication also applies to Road’s employees.

Our principle in processing your personal data is data minimization; we process as little personal data as possible, and only LEAP24 employees who require access to your data due to their role will have access to it.

When we collect and process personal data, it is first encrypted before being transferred. This ensures that your data cannot be misused by third parties. Our security measures are continuously improved, and our Privacy Statement is updated accordingly. Make sure you always have the latest version of the Privacy Statement.

If you suspect that your personal data is not sufficiently secured or if you notice any signs of unauthorized use, please inform us immediately using the contact details provided in this statement.

Recipients of your data
Your personal data may be provided to the following categories of recipients:

  • Those responsible for or necessarily involved in executing the agreement
  • Those responsible for or necessarily involved in communication with you
  • Others, if you have given unambiguous consent
  • Others, if data processing is necessary to comply with a legal obligation of LEAP24
  • Others, if the data is processed solely for statistical or historical purposes

A data processing agreement is concluded with third parties that process personal data on behalf of and under the instructions of LEAP24, ensuring compliance with privacy legislation. Third parties engaged by LEAP24 that provide services as independent data controllers are themselves responsible for compliance with privacy legislation.

As a LEAP24 customer, the personal data necessary to execute your charging card subscription is at least shared with Road.

6. How long do we retain your data?

We do not retain your personal data longer than necessary (for example, after the end of cooperation) to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Statement or as required by law and regulations.

Camera footage is automatically deleted after 14 days. Footage may be retained longer if necessary, for example, for prosecuting criminal offenses.

Applicants
If an applicant is hired for the position they applied for, the employer retains their personal data for the duration of the employment and for the applicable personnel file retention periods.

If an applicant is not hired, LEAP24 deletes their personal data no later than four weeks after the end of the application process. The applicant may grant permission to retain their data longer (up to one year), for example, if a suitable position may become available at LEAP24 at a later time.

7. Your rights regarding the personal data we process

You may contact us at any time if you wish to know which personal data we store about you or if you want to rectify or delete it. Additionally, you have the following rights:

Right to information (Articles 12-14 GDPR)
You have the right to be informed about the processing of your personal data. This Privacy Statement provides this information. If you require additional information, you may request it from us.

Right of access (Article 15 GDPR)
You have the right to access the personal data we collect and store about you. This access includes information about the purposes for which the data is processed, how long and where it is stored, and who receives the data.

Right to rectification (Article 16 GDPR)
We strive to ensure that the personal data we process is accurate and complete. If you believe your personal data is incorrect or incomplete, you may request that it be supplemented or corrected.

Right to erasure (Article 17 GDPR)
In certain situations, you have the right to have your personal data erased. This applies, for example, if the data has been processed unlawfully or is no longer necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and stored.

Right to restriction of processing (Article 18 GDPR)
You can request a temporary restriction of the processing of your data under certain circumstances. You may request personal data that we store about you in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format in certain cases. After receiving your data, you are free to transfer this information to third parties.

Right to object to processing (Article 21 GDPR)
Unless we have a compelling legitimate reason for processing, we will no longer process your personal data if you object to its processing.

Right to withdraw consent (Article 7 GDPR)
If the processing of your personal data is based on your consent, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time. Upon receiving your request, we will immediately stop processing your personal data for which you had given consent. The withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing that took place prior to the withdrawal.

Finally, we inform you that you have the right to file a complaint about our processing of your personal data with the Data Protection Authority, if your complaint has not been or is not handled to your satisfaction.

In such cases, please contact us directly. Please note that your rights are not absolute in all circumstances, and we may not be obliged to comply with your request. These rights cannot be exercised concerning personal data that we process for journalistic purposes. Furthermore, we may not be able to delete your personal data if we are legally required to retain it or if we store it as part of an agreement with you. Similarly, access to your data may be denied if providing this information would disclose another person’s personal data or if it is legally prohibited to share such information.

We will always assess each request on a case-by-case basis and inform you of the outcome. Finally, if you withdraw your consent, we may still have another legal basis for continuing to process your personal data.

8. Transfer to other countries

Your personal data may be transferred to the United Kingdom. This transfer is permitted based on the European Commission’s adequacy decisions.
